Why we picked it

Its strong aroma of pine and resin is noticeable at once, so a little rosemary is enough to scent oven-roasted potatoes, lamb or a focaccia loaf.

About the product

Dried rosemary leaves (needles) from the Rosmarinus officinalis plant (of the mint family). They have a strong aroma of pine and resin, with a camphorous freshness. They go best with grilled and roast meats, potatoes and Mediterranean bread.

Taste and aroma

Tasting notes

Strong notes of pine and resin, with a camphorous freshness.

How to use it

  • Sprinkle it over oven-baked potatoes and vegetables, with olive oil.
  • Use it in marinades for lamb, pork or chicken.
  • Add it to focaccia or bread dough, or to a flavoured oil.
  • As it is so aromatic, use it sparingly; the dry needles can be chopped finely or taken out at the end.

Storage

Dried rosemary keeps its aroma well, but still keep it in a closed jar, somewhere dry and dark, away from light.

Keep somewhere dry and dark. Whole spices (seeds, sticks) hold their aroma far longer than ground ones.
